प्रारम्भिक जीवन
सुरेश यादवको जन्म प्रदेश नं. २ अन्तर्गत जनकपुर नजिकैको एउटा सानो गाउँमा भएको थियो। उनको परिवार कृषि कार्यमा संलग्न थियो, जुन यस क्षेत्रमा साधारण पेसा हो। सुरेशले विद्यालयमा अध्ययन गर्दा आफ्ना आमाबाबुलाई खेतबारीमा सहयोग गर्दै हुर्केका थिए।
शिक्षा
सीमित स्रोतसाधनका बावजुद, सुरेशका आमाबाबुले उनको शिक्षालाई प्राथमिकता दिए। उनले राम्रो अंकसहित उच्च माध्यमिक शिक्षा पूरा गरे र उच्च अध्ययनको लागि काठमाडौँतर्फ प्रस्थान गरे। उनले व्यवस्थापनमा स्नातक कार्यक्रममा भर्ना लिए, जसले उनलाई अझ राम्रो अवसरहरू सिर्जना गर्ने आशा थियो।
राइड-शेयरिङ उद्योगमा प्रवेश
अध्ययन गर्दै गर्दा, काठमाडौँमा जीविकोपार्जनको लागि लचकशील कामको आवश्यकता पर्दथ्यो। २०१९ मा, उनले इन्ड्राइभजस्ता राइड-शेयरिङ एपहरूको बारेमा थाहा पाए। आफ्ना बचत र आफन्तबाट लिएको ऋणको प्रयोग गर्दै, उनले एउटा मोटरसाइकल किने र राइडरको रूपमा काम गर्न सुरु गरे।
राइडरको रूपमा दैनिक जीवन
सुरेशको दिन उनको मोटरसाइकलको जाँचबाट सुरु हुन्छ र त्यसपछि इन्ड्राइभ एपमा लगइन गर्छन्। उनी काठमाडौँका ब्यस्त सडकहरूमा यात्रा गर्दै, विभिन्न भागका यात्रुहरूलाई उठाउँछन्। उनको यात्रुहरूसँगको अन्तरक्रिया अक्सर छोटो कुराकानीहरूमा समावेश हुन्छ, जसलाई उनले आफ्नो नेपाली र अंग्रेजी भाषाका कौशलहरू सुधार गर्न मन पराउँछन्।
चुनौतिहरू
प्रदेश नं. २ बाट आएको हुनाले, सुरेशले विभिन्न बाधाहरू सामना गर्नुपर्यो:
– भाषा: मैथिली, भोजपुरी र अन्य क्षेत्रीय भाषाहरू प्रदेश नं. २ मा प्रचलित छन्। सुरुमा, सुरेशले काठमाडौँमा बढी प्रचलित नेपाली भाषासँग संघर्ष गरे।
– सांस्कृतिक भिन्नता: काठमाडौँको तीव्र गतिमा चल्ने जीवनशैली र भिन्न सांस्कृतिक मान्यताहरूमा अनुकूलन गर्न चुनौतीपूर्ण थियो।
– भेदभाव: सुरेशले कहिलेकाहीं आफ्नो विशिष्ट अनुहार र उच्चारणका कारण सूक्ष्म भेदभावको सामना गरे, जसले उनलाई फरक प्रदेशबाट आएको व्यक्ति भनेर चिनाउँथ्यो।
यी चुनौतीहरूका बावजुद, सुरेशले यात्रुहरू र साथीहरूसँग नेपाली र अंग्रेजी अभ्यास गरेर भाषागत बाधाहरू पार गर्न कडा मेहनत गरे।
आकांक्षाहरू
सुरेशले आफ्नो शिक्षा पूरा गर्न र आफ्नै व्यवसाय सुरु गर्ने सपना देख्छन्। उनी जनकपुर फर्कन र आफ्नो गृहनगरको विकासमा योगदान गर्न चाहन्छन्। उनको दीर्घकालीन लक्ष्य भनेको प्रदेश नं. २ मा रोजगारका अवसरहरू सिर्जना गर्नु हो, जसले यस्तै बाधाहरू सामना गर्ने अरूलाई मद्दत पुर्याउँछ।
प्रभाव र प्रतिबिम्ब
राइड-शेयरिङ राइडरको रूपमा काम गर्नु सुरेशको लागि रूपान्तरणकारी अनुभव भएको छ। यसले उनलाई दृढता, अनुकूलता, र मेहनतको मूल्य सिकाएको छ। उनी आफ्नो काममा गर्व गर्छन्, जसले उनको शिक्षा र परिवारलाई समर्थन गर्दछ। आफ्नो यात्रामा, सुरेशले दृढ संकल्प र भविष्यप्रति आशावादको भावना विकास गरेका छन्।
Suresh Yadav was born in a small village near Janakpur in Province No. 2. His family was involved in agriculture, a common occupation in the region. Suresh grew up helping his parents in the fields while attending a local school.
Education
Despite limited resources, Suresh’s parents prioritized his education. He completed his high school education with good grades and moved to Kathmandu for higher studies. He enrolled in a bachelor’s program in management, hoping to create better opportunities for himself.
Entry into the Ride-Sharing Industry
While studying, Suresh needed a flexible job to support his living expenses in Kathmandu. In 2019, he learned about ride-sharing apps like InDrive. Using his savings and a loan from a relative, he purchased a motorcycle and began working as a rider.
Daily Life as a Rider
Suresh’s day starts with checking his motorcycle and then logging into the InDrive app. He navigates through the busy streets of Kathmandu, picking up passengers from various parts of the city. His interaction with passengers often involves short conversations, which he enjoys as it helps him improve his Nepali and English language skills.
Challenges
Being from Province No. 2, Suresh faced several barriers:
– Language:Maithili, Bhojpuri, and other regional languages are commonly spoken in Province No. 2. Initially, Suresh struggled with the Nepali language, which is more prevalent in Kathmandu.
– Cultural Differences: Adapting to the fast-paced life and different cultural norms in Kathmandu was challenging.
– Discrimination: Suresh occasionally faced subtle discrimination due to his distinct facial features and accent, which identified him as someone from a different province.
Despite these challenges, Suresh worked hard to overcome language barriers by practicing Nepali and English with his passengers and friends.
Aspirations
Suresh dreams of completing his education and starting his own business. He hopes to return to Janakpur and contribute to the development of his hometown. His long-term goal is to create job opportunities in Province No. 2, helping others who face similar barriers.
Impact and Reflection
Working as a ride-sharing rider has been a transformative experience for Suresh. It has taught him resilience, adaptability, and the value of hard work. He takes pride in his job, knowing it supports his education and family. Through his journey, Suresh has developed a strong sense of determination and optimism for the future.
