NEPAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (NAST)

Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) is an autonomous apex body established in 1982 to promote science and technology in the country. The Academy is entrusted with four major objectives: advancement of science and technology for all-round development of the nation; preservation and further modernization of indigenous technologies; promotion of research in science and technology; and identification and facilitation of appropriate technology transfer.

Management Council

Functions, duties and rights of the Council: The council shall have the following functions, duties and rights:

  • To execute the decisions of the Assembly and follow the decisions of the Assembly issued time to time.
  • To present the annual programs, budget, audit report and other reports of the Academy before the Assembly for decision.
  • To protect and take care of the movable and immovable property of the Academy.
  • To manage and operate the fund of the Academy.
  • To make necessary arrangements for the management of administration and other sections of the academy.
  • To accept donations and gifts for the Academy.
  • To perform (other duties) as directed by the Assembly and as specified.
